Dedicated to serving Champaign County & it's residents
 
REACT is an international organization of 1,500 volunteer groups totaling approximately 25,000 volunteers who utilize their own CB radios to monitor Emergency Channel 9. REACT teams provide local two-way radio communications in response to emergencies, such as tornado's, floods, winter storms and other declared emergencies.
REACT teams utilize CB,UHF,VHF,Amateur, and computer uplink services. Teams participate in their communities disaster preparedness plans through cooperative agreements with RED CROSS,the SALVATION ARMY, THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE(NOAA), and THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY.
 
REACT Utilizes Members Skills & Abilities
Champaign County REACT has members who's daily job skills they use at work are also incorporated into REACT's overall capability to serve the county. There are Ham Operators, Painters, Computer Specialists, Farmers, Mechanics and Proffessional Truck Drivers to mention a few. ALL these trades can and ARE used by REACT.

More REACT volunteers are needed to ensure everyone gets help when needed. Every Emergency Call requires a monitor to succeed. It's as simple as that. For more than 25 years REACT has been the leader in public service radio. REACT has earned the PRESIDENTIAL VOLUNTEER ACTION AWARD.
